Jean-Sebastien Giguere leaning toward retirement after season
These are the final days for Jean-Sebastien Giguere in an Avalanche uniform and, quite possibly, in any NHL uniform. The Avs have informed the 36-year-old goalie he’s not in their plans for next season, preferring that Swiss rookie Reto Berra serve as the backup to Semyon Varlamov in the near future.

Avalanche F PA Parenteau likely to miss rest of regular season
Avalanche forward P.A. Parenteau is likely to miss the rest of the regular season after sustaining a knee injury in the first period of Monday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets. Parenteau may be able to return for the playoffs, but according to head coach Patrick Roy, he will need four to six weeks to recover.
